Over and Out

I'm considering getting off my Lithium. It will be a gradual process, but first I want to start Effexor. I just don't think my prozac is doing me any favors either. Lithium makes me have ungodly shakes. I'm not an old woman yet--I shouldn't shake like one holding out my hand in front of me.

That's all I have for now. I'm upset. I don't want to get off the Lithium and have it turn into a disaster.

That's it. I'm over and out.

Effexor with no mood stabiliser can be a complete disaster. I ended up in hospital. Please be careful.

    Dear Chica,
I had such bad tremors at one time that I felt my only possible career choice was to be a symphony conductor, except I couldn't read music.

And, as you know, drugs affect everyone differently. I was on Effexor without a mood stabilizer and it didn't work, but it didn't make me sick either.

What I do know--because I've been on and off it for a long time--is that you build up a tolerance to Adderall. What's interesting to me is that at one time 10 mg. worked. Years later 100 didn't. And now 25 does. Go figure.

    Susan

lithium gave me the shakes towards the end so I had to let it go. I currently take Effexor, Cymbalta, Seroquel and Temazapam with no real side effects

Bipolar Affective Disorder Triggers and Medications Manic depression or as it is now called bipolar affective disorder, have millions of people suffering from this mood disorder. Mood swings are but natural, but this mood disorder is way beyond the normal experiences of people.

And this is my affliction. I'm glad I came across your blog, and hope to learn to be as brave as you have been; for the most part I've kept my mania a secret.

I don't know what else you've tried or your history but abilify and klonopin seem to work for me (Bipolar II).

Have you tried Abilify? Effexor was god awful for me so was Prozac. Turned out that Prozac was part of my problem as any antidepressant was.

I'm sorry that you're feeling bad, the medicine process is not fun when it isn't working.

No worries, everyone, I am on a mood stabilizer. It works. We may have to increase the dosage now that I'm going off my Lithium, but I think I'll survive. I have to, right?
